Of course we had to go check out the bright lights.
We were in Vegas, after all.
The thing is, money was tight and it wasn’t really our scene. The huge Strip overwhelmed us, but there were some compelling extravagant things. I loved marveling at the artistry of it all.
I especially enjoyed The Mirage’s volcano. It was a passionate sight and we could feel it’s heat on our cheeks, some distance away.
The Fountains of Bellagio played along with music and were fun to watch (though I was distracted because I felt so sad for the ducks in the pond during the show – it had to be scary with the noise, lights, and seemingly random shooting water).
We could feel the greed in the air. As we blundered through the smoky casinos and down the drunken street we were struck by the base, artificial, and hungry for more atmosphere.
Of course we had to pay a visit to the Strip, but our over-stimulated minds couldn’t handle staying long.
This is great. I love the flashy, bright-against-dark photos coupled with your more sober, honest story.
