Portland, Part II

The next day, we ventured out to see part of the Columbia River Gorge. This is how the USDA Forest Service website describes this magical place, “The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area encompasses 292,500 acres, running from the mouth of the Sandy River to the mouth of the Deschutes and spanning southern Washington and northern Oregon.”

We obviously didn’t have time to explore the whole place, so we visited the picture-postcard Multnomah Falls and swooned at its great beauty.

This trip has brought us to so many places that feel like fairy homes. One of these days we are bound to turn the corner and run into a sleeping wood nymph or two.

We munched on our lunch at this expansive overlook Lauren brought us to see.

We recall that we also saw a rainbow (the fifth of the trip), though do not have photo documentation of this event.
